Read Aloud

Come spread the love of reading and share your favorite book with our students!

Read Aloud is part of our summer Freedom Schools program. Each morning, we invite guests from the community to come into the classroom and read their favorite books. The program instills a love of reading and exposes students to new people and new stories. And it allows you to see what the Read Lead CDF Freedom Schools program is all about.

Read Aloud guests are a vital part of our program, as they demonstrate to students that reading is important to everyone. We invite you to come and read your favorite age-appropriate (5 to 13) book to our class. You’ll also have the opportunity to share with the scholars how education and literacy has played a role in your success. Our students are always excited to ask guests questions and are equally excited when the guest asks questions of them.
